Where art thou…

It feels like I have been away from home much longer than a month and a half! And I have to say I wasn’t too stoked to be greeted by rain and chance of snow (seriously?!) after I have been riding around on the back of a motorcycle in the sunshine for a month. But all good things must come to an end they say. Yesterday was filled with lots of tears and goodbyes and my heart is already aching for those certain smiles I got every day. I can not say enough how thankful I am that I got to have an opportunity like this. It is so encouraging to feel like you have found your niche and meet other people your age who have a passion for providing education and aide. Also stoked that I pulled it all off, my art supplies magically lasted as well as my energy to paint a forty something foot mural, which is something I never really saw myself doing. Thank you everyone for all of your support and encouraging words it really did make a difference while I was there. The new week is going well! The boys I’m staying with are good time, making pizzas and bro-hahahing it up. Got the chance to attend an indian wedding today which was amazing. Tomorrow we celebrate Republic day so I’m gearing up to paint a thousand faces orange white and green :) xo p

India is incredible.

hey all, I must be brief but wanted to say hello from the other side of the planet! Survived the almost 18 hour travel time and have been going non stop since. My first mornings view was a sky filled with swirling bright kites and children darting back and forth on their rooftops watching the “duels” shouting with excitement. Makar Sakranti is the Indian holiday celebrating winter coming to an end, and trust me I sure can feel the heat coming! So far have completed what will be the squares for the photo quilt as well as the “dream banners” with the children. Could not be happier to be where I am, will try to update more thoroughly later. Love and miss you all!
